Why You Shouldn’t Eat Your Boogers by Francesca Gould

Written on February 13, 2008

As a parent there are dozens of questions that our kids ask us that we can honestly say we do not have the answers to. I know my kids ask them and I asked my parents so when I picked up this book I happened to be delighted with their straight forward approach Ms. Gould took when giving the reader the information. While though I do recommend certain sections for kids, here are some sections which could give kids bad ideas or thoughts on how to do things whether or not the book gives them the information that it is a bad idea so just go through the book before you think about picking this up for your kids.

However as an adult, parent, expecting or planning.. this is a book you will need to get in your corner! Being prepared with information on telling your kids why they shouldn’t eat their boogers other than its gross, why we can’t tickle ourselves, why body odor smells, and why smoking is bad for your skin (not just your health!) There are really a lot of amazing things in this book. There are also a lot of inappropriate things I wouldn’t want my wee ones to be reading about. So make sure you breeze through this book first before deciding on handing it to your little one.

  1. This has to be the most annoying habit I have to contend with, well next to whining. I’m going to check out this book specifically for the booger part.
    Thanks!

  2. I must admit it does not sound like an appealing title, but it takes a community and I am not one to pretend like I know it all. We are all trying to figure it out as we go. I enjoy perspective I get from books like this. Thanks for the recommendation!
